Importance of Fine Art Education in India

Fine art is visual art created to express one’s feelings, emotions and reflects beauty in different ways such as paintings, sculptures, photographs, prints, music, graphics, architecture, literature, dramas etc. It is not meant for commercial use unlike other forms of art. The motive behind this form of art is intense and unique. Every individual in some way or the other express their emotions and this type of art is considered as one of the best ways to do so. The popularity and zeal to learn has given birth to Fine Art Education all over the world. There are lot of public and private institutes’which run courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate level ranging from diplomas, higher diplomas to degrees. Some of the popular ones are University of Delhi, University of Calcutta, Rabindra Bharati University, Rukmini Devi College of Fine Arts, Academy of Fine Arts. Kolkata etc.

The study of fine arts helps students to see, hear and feel what they want to. Now a days fine art is being introduced from the preschools to allow children to bring out their creativity at its best from the very beginning. There are many benefits of studying Fine art. Students become self-driven and independent, express their emotions in an improved way, get motivated both academically and non-academically, connect to the society and culture in a better way. The arts art education frees the mind and demonstrate creativity and problem solving skills. It helps in understanding people and builds team spirit. In the 21st century, there has been a drastic increase in the number of art students and art schools too, not only in India but all over the world.
